Sandra Lee Pickering

1935 ~ 2016

Sandra Pickering died March 9, 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah.She was born in North Hollywood, California, September 10, 1935, to Faye Openshaw Pickering and Ken Pickering.

After graduating from North Hollywood High School, she attended Brigham Young University.She was employed for several years by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.She was last employed by the Los Angeles County Welfare Department until her retirement in 2012.She then moved to Salt Lake City to be close to her cousins.A life-long resident of southern California, it was hard for her to leave her California home, and she often commented how she missed the lemon tree in her back yard.

She was devoted to her parents.As a young child she and her father would ride on his bicycle to attend boxing matches in Los Angeles.She loved to travel with her parents, but she especially enjoyed a family trip to Ireland while her aunt and uncle were serving in the mission presidency of the Dublin Ireland mission.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.She was preceded in death by her father and mother.She is survived by numerous cousins, who will miss her.

Funeral services will be heldSaturday, March 19, 2016, at10:00 a.m.at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy. There will be a viewing one-half hour before the services.Interment will be at Santaquin City Cemetery.
