Helen Edith Murrish Larsen

1924 ~ 2014

Mom left this life on March 23, 2014. She was born March 18, 1924, the daughter of Earl Murrish and Muriel Ester Davis in Elko, Nevada. She was raised in Ely, Nevada where she graduated from White Pine High School. She met and married Earl K. Larsen on November 16, 1941, just days prior to the beginning of WWII. They settled in Salt Lake where they raised their six children. She served in various LDS church callings but her main love was genealogy. She was very dedicated to researching our family. She was also very devoted to Marty, our Down Syndrome brother. She loved gardening, crocheting, embroidery, and sewing. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with us as a family and we have fond memories of her Dutch oven stew.

She was preceded in death by our father Earl, our brother, Martin, her parents, as well as her two brothers, Bob and Jack Murrish. She is survived by her children Richard of Sacramento, CA, Linda Case (Bob), Karen Mortensen (Craig), Judy Nordgren (Jeff), all of Salt Lake City and Terry Hair (Tim) of Nampa, Idaho. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She has one surviving brother, Everett (Fern) of Spokane, Washington.

We would especially like to thank her caregivers at Fairview East Care Center, particularly Sarah and Colleen for their tender care. She was also cared for by Inspiration Hospice, and we thank Jamie and Debbie for their care and concern.

We all, as a family, are thrilled about her reunion in heaven with dad and Marty.
