Frederick Eugene Beck

1936 ~ 2018

"New Roads to Explore"

Much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018.

He was born of goodly parents, Langley Eugene and Verda Rappleye Beck in Price, Utah on May 14, 1936. He was raised as a farm boy in Nephi, Utah. After going to airline college in southern California, he moved to Salt Lake where he met and married his lifetime sweetheart, Karen Kay Jackson.

Fred was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities. He served in bishoprics, high council, as a bishop, and taught Gospel Doctrine for 15 years. He and Karen served for 5 years at Arlington Hills Care Center in the branch presidency providing church services for the residents. It was a calling they both loved.

He loved the open road, old west history, and visiting ghost towns. There was always a dirt road that needed to be explored. His career as a national sales manager met both his passions of extensive traveling through the United States and the satisfaction of building relationships.

Fred is survived by his wife Karen of over 60 years; children: David (Joan) Beck, Janet (Jacob) Helland, John, Rachelle (Carl) Doane; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Cherrinda (Van) Gardner. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Joann Freeman, and brother Michael Beck.

We wish to thank Jolene and her team of angels from Solstice hospice and the tender, loving care he received at Brookdale Care Center.
