Kathleen U. Featherstone, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away as a result of a massive stroke on January 9, 2015 surrounded by family. Kathy was born to Howard and Evelyn Updegraff on August 21, 1933, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Kathy married Bill Trivett, later divorced. Married Jim D. Featherstone January 10, 2003 in the Timpanogos Temple. She was a proud graduate of South High School, class of 1952. Worked for Linford Bros. Glass Company until retirement. Kathy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in Relief Society, Primary and Young Women's programs. Together with her husband they served in the New York Rochester Mission while living in Palmyra (The Birth Place of The Restoration). Jim and Kathy also served in the Salt Lake City Temple together.
Kathy is survived by her husband, children; David (Brenda), Terri (Dan) Spencer, Von (Sue), Jim (Shea), step children; Pam (Jack) Hart, Lori (Beverly Buchanon) Darrington, Greg J. (Diana) Featherstone, 28 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and sister Ardis (Cushing) Bitner. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Tracy Callis, brother Jim Updegraff and sister Gail Jackson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Winder 5th Ward Chapel, 1350 East 4000 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, January 13, from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (106th South) Sandy, Utah and also on Wednesday 11:30 ‚ 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the ward.
