Robert Ray Wilson

1927 ~ 2016

Robert passed away September 15, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born at home in Salt Lake City September 17, 1927 to Ray Herbert and Mary Zollinger Wilson. He was the youngest of 5 children: Rulon, Ruth and Lowell all who predeceased him, and one surviving brother Lynn of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Bob's first wife Geneil Harmon died in 1984. He married Marilou Smith in 1987, who survives him. Both marriages in the Salt Lake Temple.

He graduated from South High and LDS Business College. He served in the Army, then as a missionary in New Zealand. He and Marilou also served a mission in Indiana from 1999-2001.

He loved to travel, was an avid reader and loved sports, especially the Utes and the Jazz.

Active in the LDS faith, he served in many callings, but especially enjoyed serving in the Salt Lake Temple. Generous to a fault, always willing to lend a hand when needed. In lieu of flowers, please give to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care given him at Life Care, especially by Lori and Michelle, in the last few weeks of his life.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 21, 11:00 at the Olympus 3rd Ward Chapel, 4100 Camille St. Holladay, with a viewing 9-10:30 prior to services. Interment at the Larkin Cemetery in Sandy. Online condolence can be shared with the family www.larkinmortuary.com.
