Bruce David Baumbach

1932 ~ 2014

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Bruce David Baumbach passed away at home on July 30, 2014 in Lehi, Utah surrounded by loved ones. Bruce was born in Kit Carson, Colorado September 17, 1932 to Harold David Baumbach and Aletha May Audrey Baumbach.

He worked for Western Electric/ATandT for 36 years in Utah, Colorado, and many other locations nationally and in foreign countries. He married Phylis Crisp, later divorced. They had two children, Mark David Baumbach, Victoria (David) Edwards, and their four children, David (Brooke), Genevieve Moss (Daemian), Cameron and Parker, 2 great grandchildren. He married Lyle Lorraine Walke Thacker. They had 31 happy years together and traveled the fifty states and many foreign countries together. He was a caring and wonderful husband, father and step-father to Dan (Shanna) Thacker, Connie (Arnold) Osborne, Susan (Ralph) McCall, Sharon (Dee) Harding. 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

Bruce served in the Army in the Korean War. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for Woodland Hills City. He loved history and was an avid reader, he enjoyed working in his woodshop, traveling, ATV riding and collecting old telephones. He loved to tell a good story.

Bruce was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his wife, family and all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and all of his-step family, and his sister Mary (Robert) Knob. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Audrey Stevens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6-8pm and on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am prior to the services. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
