Carol Jeanne Hunter, 87, passed away January 18, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born to Athol Ricks Smellie and Iva Wilhelmina Smellie on June 15, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Carol was a life-long resident of Summit Park, Jeanne was a vibrant and memorable member of her community; she was a faithful and life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a brave single mother of two boys. She will be missed by those who loved her.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons Todd (Marlene) and Michael (Christine), her grandchildren Lindsay, Andrew, Zachary, Ryan, and Molly, and her great grandson, Aiden. She is also survived by her cousin, Toni-Ann (Mel) and her family (Utah), nephew Michael, and nieces Carolyn and Geri-Lynn and their families (Texas).
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Athol and Iva Smellie, and her brother Gary Smellie.
Services will be held Monday, January 30, 2016 at 11am at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple). Friend and family can call prior to the service Monday morning from 9:30 until 10:45 at Larkin Mortuary.
Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
