Charlette McCleery Jansen

1945 ~ 2017

Charlette McCleery Jansen, 71, passed away on April 16, 2017 in Murray, UT. Charlette was born on June 4, 1945 in Salt Lake City, UT to Donald N. and Joyce Cook McCleery. Charlette was one of seven children, and grew up in Salt Lake, where she attended South High School. In 1963, she married Stephen Douglas Jansen. They were married for 54 years.

Charlette was a wonderful wife and mother who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She loved holidays and enjoyed planning and throwing holiday parties for her family. Charlette modeled as a teenager and worked as a waitress, where she met her husband Steve. Charlette had a talent for arranging flowers and creating beautiful floral designs. She worked for many years at several flower shops, which she enjoyed very much. Charlette had a kind heart and enjoyed helping others. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved the gospel and her Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen D. Jansen, West Valley City, UT; her son Douglas S. Jansen, St. George, UT and her daughter Kim E. (Scott) Tingley, West Jordan, UT; grandchildren Casey, (Kellie) Jansen, Zachary (Nicole) Jansen, River (David) Tabakian, Jon Jansen, Jenny Jansen, Shane Tingley, Sydney Tingley; great grandchildren Braxten Jansen, K.C. Jansen, Wyatt Jansen, Samantha Jansen; sisters Erma Matson, Susan (Craig) Wilding, Donna (Larry) ELcock, and brother Donald (Marilyn) McCleery. Charlette is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Rebecca "Becky" Mackay and Janet Beck.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Thursday evening, April 20th, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning, April 21st, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. both at the mortuary. Interment to follow funeral services.
