Kay Shelton Lewis

1947 ~ 2014

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away October 23rd 2014, in Salt Lake City surrounded by her family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kay was born December 17th 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Faye "Speed" and Enid Shelton.

Kay graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1966. She then married Kurtis Mooney. Together they had four sons. Her boys were her pride and joy. She later married Ken Lewis and together they enjoyed 26 beautiful years.

Family and friends were Kay's passion and delight. She was always willing to lend a hand or offer advice. Her patience, kindness and loving ways made lasting impressions on everyone she met. Kay lived life to the fullest with beauty and grace. She enjoyed music, dance and loved to be outdoors in her garden. Kay brightened rooms with her talent for interior design and decoration. She loved family and friends to gather together, whether it was vacationing or at home around her kitchen table where everyone delighted in her delicious homemade meals.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William "Bill" Shelton. Kay is survived by her brother, Lyle Shelton, loving husband Ken Lewis; 4 children, Brandon (Summerly) Mooney, Justin (Mistala) Mooney, Troy Mooney and Michael Mooney; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, Chase, Connor, Anthony and Micaela; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00pm with viewings on Thursday, October 30th, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00-1:45pm prior to the funeral. All services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens- 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT.
