Christopher Jeffrey Heyn

1974 ~ 2014

Christopher Jeffrey Heyn passed away peacefully but unexpectedly December 8, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a sweet, tender, sensitive person who endured a lifelong struggle with illness. Everyone who met him was charmed by his engaging smile and laugh.

Chris was born May 13, 1974 to Jeffrey J. and Renate A. Heyn, raised in the Avenues of Salt Lake, and became a lifetime U of U fan. A perfect sports Saturday for Chris was a U of U win and BYU loss. He loved most sports, especially football, basketball, fishing and golf. Golfing with his dad at Bonneville Golf course was a top priority. Chris was a good athlete and played competitive football and baseball.

He dearly cherished the company, love and comfort he received from his mother. She helped him navigate through all of the challenges life presented him. His family is proud of the way he handled adversity with courage and dignity. When asked how he was doing, his response was always "I'm good." We love and will miss Chris deeply, but can find solace knowing he has been set free.

Chris is survived by his parents, Renate and Jeff Heyn; brothers Mike (Shana) Heyn and Rob (Paula) Heyn; five nieces and nephews Paige, Rachel, Mitchell, Emma and Serena; grandmother Janet Heyn; Aunt Lynda Logsdon and his beloved cat Simon. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Willi and Elfriede Moritz and John Heyn.

A visitation will be held on December 15, 2014 at Larkin Mortuary located at 260 East South Temple, SLC, Utah from 10:30 to 11:45 AM followed by graveside services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 12:00 Noon.
