He was preceded in death by his father, LaMar E. Garrard in 2010.

Ben was born on April 9, 1967 to LaMar and Agnes Garrard in Provo, Utah. He was a happy child, surrounded by older siblings in a home full of love. Ben traveled a lot as a child. He lived in Vermont for a summer while his family was working for the L.D.S. Church, and when Ben was only six years old, he travelled with his family to Israel, where his father directed a BYU semester abroad program and where Ben had the experience of learning Hebrew in an elementary school in Jerusalem.

Ben attended Joaquin Elementary School, Farrer Jr. High School and Provo High School. As an adult, Ben learned and loved the trade of Auto Mechanic and became well known in the area as one of the most gifted in his industry. Ben also had a gift for making friends. Everyone that worked with him liked him and considered him close.

Working as one of the top mechanics for a dealership in Provo, Ben met and married his first wife, Tami Wilcock and began a family that would eventually include three beautiful children.

Recently, Ben met and married the love of his life Kimberly Carman Ross, and had started a new life with her when he was suddenly taken.
