David P. Bradford

1925 ~ 2017

Our amazing and loved Father, Grandfather, Husband, Uncle, Neighbor, and Friend passed away at his home of 40 years in Sandy UT, on July 3rd, 2017. Dave now joins his wife of 45 years, Bente Kristiansen Bradford in heaven who he loved dearly, who passed away on November 1st, 2010. Dave was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 18th, 1925 to Stella Paul and William Bradford.

He lived a very wonderful and full life filled with love for his family and service to his community and country. This included serving his country as he served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 including WW2 service on the USS Pitt until Honorable Discharge, and as a decorated Police Officer for more than two decades for Salt Lake City Police Department. During his career, Dave served as a patrol officer, training officer, burglary detective, before promotion to Sergeant, then Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, Dave served as the watch commander for the Patrol Division. After retiring from the Salt Lake City Police Department, he continued on to serve the State of Utah in several leadership positions until retiring from law enforcement. He absolutely loved police work and was extremely passionate about the opportunity to serve. His life was dedicated to putting others first and this gave him true joy. Dave was a man of honesty, strength, integrity and great character. Dave was also a man of humility, compassion and love for his family. He always put his family's needs before his own and he felt this was his ultimate purpose until the end of his life. Dave also loved to play golf, fish, ski and camp with his family, enjoying all that Utah had to offer. We will miss him dearly and heaven just gained another angel.

Services will be held on Friday, July 14th at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Services begin with a visitation at 11:00AM immediately followed by graveside service at Noon including Police and Military honors. Larkin is located at 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy UT, 84092.
