Irmgard Herta Freimann Klindt

1920 ~ 2015

Irmgard Herta Freimann Klindt passed away peacefully on May 15, 2015 in Lehi, Utah. She was born on May 8, 1920 in Königsberg, East Prussia to loving parents Max and Margarete Freimann. She helped raise her siblings after her mother passed away in 1931. She learned to sew at an early age helping her father who was a tailor. She met and later married Karl Margo Klindt on December 30, 1939. During World War II they moved to Flensburg, Germany. In 1953 they immigrated to Salt Lake City with their first three children where they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Their family was blessed with three more children. She was a seamstress at the LDS Hospital where she became a Supervisor and was employed for 25 years. She was a devoted member of the LDS German Speaking Ward and served in many callings.

She is survived by her six children, Uwe (DeAnna) Klindt, Elke (Carl) Griffith, Heike (Chad) Maxfield, twins, Janet Hansen, Gordon (Theresa) Klindt, Kelly (Elaine) Klindt, 32 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 10 great great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Ruth, Inge, Christel and brother, Reinhard.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and two grandchildren, Stephanie and JJ.

The family would like to thank Abbington Manor Memory Care and Brighton Hospice for the loving care and devotion they showed to Irma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple Salt Lake City, Utah. A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
