Olive Eatchel, age 94, our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandparent and friend was received into the glory of Heaven hereafter on June 1, 2016 due to issues caused by age. She was surrounded by a loving family as she began her journey to join those loved ones who had preceded her.
Olive was born February 8, 1922 to Franklin John Webb and Lucy Buck Webb in Magna, Utah. Unfortunately, Grandpa Webb passed away when Olive was only five years of age. She was soon blessed to have Jess Frances Miller enter her life when he and Grandma Lucy married. "Jack" as he was known became the father to Olive and her siblings. A gentle giant of a man who raised and provided them through his lifetime.
Olive grew up and spent her life in Murray, Utah. She married Earl Burdett Eatchel, also of Murray, on February 8, 1940 (her birthday). Together they raised and are survived by three children, Frances Karen Garrett (Jerry), Lucy Erlene Brown (C.W.), and Thomas Earl Eatchel (Colleen). Eight grandchildren and a number of great and great-great grandchildren create Olive's Legacy. A brother David Webb (Betty) and sister-in-law Vaudis Campbell are also family survivors. Olive is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, and brother Frank Webb and Jack Miller.
Olive served Christ throughout her life with a strong belief in his teachings. She was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church where her faith in Jesus supported her through her lifetime. Olive was proud to have served as a volunteer at the Murray Heritage Center for over twenty years. She was also a member of the "Red Hatters" and truly loved the organization. Olive will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Graveside funeral services will be held for family and friends at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers a donation to Christ Luther Church and School, 240 E. 5600 S. Murray, UT 84107 would be appreciated.
