Delmar Farris

1947 ~ 2016

Delmar Farris, 69, passed away August 25, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born to Sam L. and Verna Farris on January 13, 1947 in Breathitt County, Ky. Delmar married Patricia Armstrong on March 18, 1974 in Vicco, Ky.

Delmar's passion was learning! He loved studying Philosophy, Religion, and Science. He attended several universities in which he received his Associate's Degree in Mental Health, Bachelor's Degree in Science, and Master's Degree in Business. He was an officer in the Army and retired after 20 years of service. Later, he retired from Valley Mental Health.

He was involved in many interests which included Overeaters Anonymous. Here he dedicated his time and passion in helping others in accomplishing their goals. Delmar was an epitome of a man! He was a wonderful, supportive, loving, kind, and determined man that gave his whole heart in helping others! He was an amazing husband, father, gramps, brother, counselor, and supporter to all he met! Words cannot describe this man!

He is survived by his wife Patty, daughter Rebecca (pre-deceased), son Sam L., daughter-in-law Leslie, three grandsons Miles, Samuel, and Liam, brother Sam E., nephews Jason, Paul, and Sam Jr., great-nephew Andrew, sister Candous, niece Karen and great-nephew Brandon, along with many others.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 2, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Friends may visit family between 12:30-1:00 p.m.
