William Richard Abby

1990 ~ 2017

William Richard Abby passed away on March 11, 2017 after a hard-fought struggle with a rare disease. He was born September 28, 1990 to Richard Abby and Kathryn Hoffman-Abby at LDS Hospital. William grew up loving sports, especially hockey, which earned him four varsity letters. He graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School, class of 2009 with an award in Chemistry. William was an artist, skilled in drawing and photography, hobbies he avidly pursued as long as he was able. Will loved nature, and his summers spent at Camp Unalayee in the Trinity Alps of California, were some of his happiest times. His love of travel, music, and the outdoors mark his reputation as a person, as does his boundless capacity for affection and acceptance. William was given an unfathomably difficult road to travel, but he journeyed forward with grit and without complaint. He leaves behind his loving parents, Rich and Katie, his admiring brother Drew, and happy memories for all of the lives he touched.

Services for William will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 18, where family and friends can visit one hour prior to the service. We ask all those that wish to attend to not wear any formal wear (no suits) and instead wear a sports jersey and/or a beanie. Immediately following the service there will be a celebration at his Aunt and Uncle's house at 1455 E Bryan Ave. Donations may be made in Will's name to Camp Unalayee at http://unalayee-summer-camp.com/donate.
