Virginia Ennis

1924 ~ 2019

Virginia Muhlestein Ennis, 95, born January 26, 1924 in Provo, UT, daughter of Israel Lehi and Dorothy Alvey Muhlestein. Proceeded in death by her siblings and spouses, Erma (Earl) Johnson, Dorothy (Joshua) Robertson, William Alvey (Bernice) Muhelstein and Mary (George) Young. She grew up in Provo Utah and married Harry Hughes Ennis on November 20, 1943 in Denver, CO before he departed to serve in the US Army during World War IIas a medic on a hospital ship. Virginia continued to live with her parents and work at Geneva Steel in the dispensary until Harry returned from the war. In 1948 they moved to Washington DC so Harry could attend medical school and Virginia supported him by working as a legal secretary until he finished. She volunteered at Primary Children's Hospital as the relief society president and served as a hostess at the church office building. She was athletic, loved skiing and was a member of the Provo Ski Patrol in 1945. Other hobbies included swimming and tennis. She was a talented cook, loved canning, and made the most wonderful Christmas caramels every year.

Virginia is survived by her three children, Stephanie Ennis, Steven (Kaylynn) Ennis and Kimberly (Kelly) Peacock. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristy (Alvin) Alexander, Lindsey (Scott), Strickland, Jesse S Ennis, Nathan R (Allison) Garcia, Joshua R. Garcia, Zachary H Ennis, Shadrach O (Allison) Ennis and seven great-grandchildren. She had a complete full life with wonderful family and friends.

Grave side services will be held on August 19th, 2019 at 9:30am at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and \N\ Street. Family and friends may visit Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.
