Glade Gates Hall

1929 ~ 2017

Glade Gates Hall, 88, passed away peacefully with his loved ones gathered around on December 27, 2017 following a short illness of pneumonia in Salt Lake City, UT.

He was born September 18, 1929 to Thomas Edwin and Hannah Leonia Ashby Hall in Maeser (Vernal) Utah and was 9th of 10 children. He married Ruby LaVon Robinson on February 3, 1953 in the Logan Temple.

He served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany for 16 Ω months.

Glade was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, and a disciple of Jesus Christ. He lived a life of service to the LDS Church, accepting many callings. He served a mission in the East Central Stakes (Kentucky) from 1950-1952.

He worked as a meter reader and supervisor for the Salt Lake City Water Department for 37 years, retiring in 1991. He also worked part-time as a milkman, delivering milk in the Rose Park area for Steenbilk Dairy.

Glade is survived by his sweetheart of 65 years Ruby R. Hall; 6 children Dale and Patti Hall, Sharon and David Durr, Ruth and Cory Higgins, Reid and Eileen Hall, Brenda and Dale Neilson, Lavon and Glenn Berg; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and brother Bruce.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Leonia Hall; step-mother Olive Doane Hall; brothers Jay, Don, Garth, and Edwin; sisters Lela, Freda, LuDeen, and Mary.

Funeral services will be held in the Rose Park Stake Center East Chapel, 750 N. 1200 W., Wednesday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing on Tuesday, January 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, as well as at the Stake Center from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
