Nancy Ann McDonald Grotepas

1934 ~ 2015

Nancy Ann McDonald Grotepas passed away peacefully Sunday morning at 7:15 am, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy Ann was born June 18, 1934 in Salt Lake City, to Farquhar and Luella McDonald. Married Roelof Grotepas, Jr. on March 24, 1960; later sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She is survived by her children: LueAnn, Bonnie (Rick), Phillip (Mindy), Heather (Greg), Matthew (Lori), Gordon, and her beloved dog, Dakota. Her memory is cherished by her eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with many more to come. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Roelof Grotepas, Jr.

Nancy loved cooking, had a green thumb, loved ceramics, loved hearing and telling a good joke, was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and care-giver, provided service to those in need, opened her home to many people, her generosity is known far and wide, and she excelled in any talent to which she set her mind.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm August 14 at the Woods Cross LDS Chapel on 790 West 1500 South, all are welcome to come and share their Nancy-related stories. There will be an open mic, with refreshments. There will be a private family viewing from 9:00 am to 10:30 am prior to the interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery. All else are invited to meet at the graveside service, which will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
