Gisela Maria Millbrandt

1924 ~ 2017

Gisela Maria Millbrandt, 92, formerly of Salt Lake City, Utah died peacefully at home in Mason, New

Hampshire on January 31, 2017.

She was born in Germany on June 17, 1924. Her family name was Siebold. She married Gerhard

Millbrandt in 1947 and they had one son, Wolfgang W. Millbrandt. The family emigrated to the United

States in January, 1956 and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. They became U. S. citizens in the early

1960's.

Gisela worked as an electronics inspector at Litton Industries, now Northrup Grumman, for twenty-five

years. She was an avid vegetable gardener, feeding her family and the neighbors, canning and freezing,

while Gerhard tended the backyard fruit trees. The family built a summer cabin in the Uinta

Mountains, next to Bear River, where you could look upstream and see the mountain headwaters at

Stillwater Fork, Utah. Her other passion was needlework, knitting sweaters, blankets and pillow

covers, crocheting and stitching embroidery.

After retirement, Gisela traveled every year to exotic places, Africa, South America, Southeast Asia,

China and India. She enjoyed volunteering in the local soup kitchen and, in summer, brought them her

garden produce. She lived in Salt Lake City for 58 years, until moving to Mason to live with her

family.

Gisela was predeceased by her husband, Gerhard Millbrandt, in 1984 and her son, Wolfgang W.

Millbrandt, in 2016. She is survived by her two grandsons, Eric E. Millbrandt and Robert D.

Millbrandt, both of Mason, NH. She will be missed by her daughter-in-law, Dotsie Millbrandt, also of

Mason.

A graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City at 1 pm on

Thursday, April 20. All are welcome to attend. An earlier funeral service was held in Wilton, NH, on

February 10.
