Preston Riley Petersen

1987 ~ 2015

We are shocked and saddened by the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend ‚ Riley Petersen. Words cannot express the sorrow in our hearts, which are now broken. He was born the son of Clint and Sharon Petersen on December 29, 1987 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended schools in South Jordan, Utah and graduated from Bingham High School in 2006, where he excelled in baseball. He later went on to become a dedicated firefighter with the West Valley City Fire Department. He had a devoted passion for mixed martial arts training and physical fitness. He did everything with a full heart and touched the lives of so many with his infectious personality. He will be remembered for his unconditional love, contagious smile, witty sense of humor, and complete selflessness.

He leaves behind his parents, Clint and Sharon; sister, Stephanie Petersen (Brady); brother, Neil Soto (Melissa); nieces, Alyssa and Harper; grandmother, Wilma Petersen; grandfather, Curtis Parker; and his canine buddy, Cooper. He is also survived by many other family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jeremy Soto; grandmother, Carol Parker; and grandfathers, Charles Petersen and Gerald Childs.

Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) on Saturday, March 7 at 2pm with a viewing on Friday 6-8pm and Saturday from 12:30-1:45pm. Cremation will follow. Online condolences at www.larkincares.com
