Merlynn Lowry

1949 ~ 2016

Merlynn Lowry, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend returned home in the early morning hours of August 5, 2016. She was born to William Francis and Beverley Martin Lowry on March 9, 1949 in Tooele, Utah where she lived the first nine years of her life in a peaceful, rural lifestyle. The family then moved to Salt Lake where she finished her schooling, graduating from Granite High School. Merlynn spent most of her working career in the floral business.

After a life changing stroke in 1987, she began working at Salt Lake Regional Hospital, logging thousands upon thousands of hours as a volunteer. She had a natural ability to make friends and always had a joke and an easy smile on her face, which also made one wonder what she was up to next. She was a devoted daughter to Frannie and Bevie, who preceded her in death. After more strokes, again life changed for Merlynn, finally limiting her to a bed in a care facility in Sandy. Merlynn is already being missed by her family and friends, but they are all glad for her graduating to the next life. She is now freed from her confining body, where she can be together with Mom and Dad, whom she missed so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Sandra Lowry. Merlynn leaves behind two sisters, Kaye Lowry and Stacey Liddiard (David), and her brother, Ron, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Sandy Health and Rehab who made Merlynn's passing so gentile.

A viewing will be Tuesday evening, August 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and 11:00 until 11:45 AM, Wednesday, August 10. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 12:00 noon, also at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC. Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
