Beverly Lois Bolton Hyde

1941 ~ 2019

Beverly Lois Bolton Hyde, 77, a wife, mother, sister and friend to all, passed away peacefully at her home in West Jordan, Utah on April 8, 2019.

Beverly was born to Chuck and Lois Bolton in Pocatello, ID on July 29, 1941. She is survived by her husband, Ron, of West Jordan, UT; her children David (Cyndi) of Jefferson, OR, Bryan (Laurie) of Portland, OR, Steve (Tessie) of Lihue, HI, Ken of Pisgah Forrest, NC, Diane of West Jordan and her sister Nancy Wilhite of Sandy, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronnie and Bob, as well as her son, Howard.

Beverly loved her family, friends and everyone around her. She had a way of making everyone feel like they were her best friend and the most important person in the world. Never uttering a bad or unkind word about anyone, she was the moral compass of her family and the epitome of Christlike love. Bev's genuine ability to lend a sincere ear and kind words made her a great listener who cherished the times spent with the many friends and neighbors who stopped by for a visit.

A thirst for knowledge drove Bev to teach herself anything and everything that excited her. This ranged from ceramics, macramé and tole painting to cake decorating, flower arranging and even computers. Her determination and constant desire to learn led her back to college later in life where she earned a degree in nursing, graduating at the top of her class and earning a Dean's Award for her superior scholarship, dedication and excellence. She even published an article with the American Medical Association. Caring for premature babies became a top priority throughout her career.

She loved everything about nature: being out in it, experiencing it, even watching it on TV. She often joked about grading her day by the number of squirrels she saw—five squirrels was a really good day!

Beverly shared her passion for genealogy and family history work by helping countless people understand how to do it and why it's so important. This work weighed so heavily on her that she often couldn't sleep because she felt her ancestors were waiting for her to help them. Her connection with those who had passed away and her sensitive nature gave Bev numerous spiritual experiences that fueled her determination for temple and family history work. One can only imagine the gratitude, love and appreciation shown by innumerable ancestors who greeted Beverly on the other side of the veil.

Despite the challenges of declining health experienced later in life, she endured it with determination, strength and a smile on her face. The family would like to extend a special note of thanks to all of the neighbors and medical professionals who assisted Bev over the past seven years.

Bev was a friend to all and a bright light in our lives. Her strength and faith are an inspiration to everyone who was blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed, but we know that she is no longer bound by her physical body and is being reunited on the other side of the veil with countless recipients of her love and service.
