Rolene Johnson Speckart

1925 ~ 2014

Rolene passed away on April 27, 2014. She was born April 11, 1925 in Salt Lake to Vern and Myrtle Larsen Johnson. During the WW II era she and her two sisters were waitresses after school in the Rainbow Cafe located in Richfield, which was owned by her mother, Myrtle and \"dad\" Jack Simister.

She attended AZ State College and the \"U\" in Salt Lake where she met and married Phillip (Pat) Speckart, later divorced. Her only son, Greg, was the joy of her life. Together they played golf and were avid football fans. Rolene was an excellent cook and loved entertaining in her home.

Her cute smile, twinkling eyes and quick sense of humor will be dearly missed.

Rolene is survived by her special daughter, Carol Bland, grandchildren, Mark, Michelle and Jeana, six great grandchildren, nieces Phylicia and Karen plus many other grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Greg, three parents, sisters Barbara Dove and Joyce Johnson, as well as Pat.

The family would like to thank the staff at Holliday Healthcare for their patience, kindness and loving care. A special thank you goes to Annette from Symbii Hospice for her compassion and the tender care given to Rolene during her last hours.

A one hour gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) Sandy, followed by a graveside service at 2p.m.
