Padma Shanthakumar, daughter of Saraswathi Krishnaswamy and Gopalswamy Naidu, passed away on June 12, 2014 at the age of 69 after a short illness. She was married to her beloved husband, Daniel Shanthakumar for 48 years.
She was a great homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing and travelling. In her high school days she was active in sports and the National Cadet Core. Padma loved entertaining guests and friends at her home. There was always food ready, even for a casual event. Grandma's kitchen was always open. She was a wonderful grandmother that deeply loved her grandchildren and liked to play with them and cook for them. She was a loving wife and caring mother who was very proud of her children. Their accomplishments can all be credited back to her. She loved the traditions and culture of India. She will be greatly missed by all her family members and friends.
Padma is survived by her husband, children Beulah (Alan) Prasad, Danny (Mercy) Shanthakumar, Emmanuel (Veenu) Shanthakumar and Priya (Taj) Rowland, 8 grandchildren, mother, sister and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Crescent 12th Ward, 89 East 11000 South, Sandy, UT. Visitations will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy and from 9:30-10:30am prior to the services at the church.
