Doris Decker Oliver

1927 ~ 2016

Doris Decker Oliver, our dearly beloved mother, grandma, aunt, and friend passed away Feb. 27, 2016. Doris was born Nov. 15, 1927 in Provo, Utah to Merritt and Josephine Decker. She graduated from South High School in 1945. Doris married Louis N. Oliver in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for her family and summer gatherings on her backyard patio with family and friends. She lovingly welcomed and would feed anyone who came into her home. Doris kept a meticulous yard and loved gardening. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved to spend time with them, especially weekends in Park City and at the cabin in Bear Lake. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews and their families. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and served on the Ladies Guild. She was a strong advocate and lobbyist for persons' with special needs. She lovingly took care of her son Steve for 58 years.

She is survived by her 4 children, Connie Richards, (Mike), Chuck Oliver, (Robbyn), Patti Haning, (John), Angie Meredith, (Peter), 9 grandchildren and 11 great grand children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and 3 siblings.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.) with a viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the mortuary. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.larkincares.com
