Rulon Don Banford

1933 ~ 2015

Rulon Don Banford, died on July 3, 2015 after a short illness. He was born on May 15, 1933, in Ogden, Utah, to Fern Carver Manning and Rulon E. Banford.

He graduated from Weber High School and Utah State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a long career at BOEING, retiring in 1995. He earned his private pilot's license, as well as glider and tow plane licenses. He was actively involved in many sports organizations and served faithfully in his church callings. He especially enjoyed serving as a guide at the Conference Center and as an Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake Temple.

He is survived by his mother, Fern Carver Manning, his children: Marlo (Guler) Banford, Kim (David) Fisher and Darren Banford; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Connie (Lee) St. John and Sheri (Dale) Holt. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews and many friends

Funeral services for Don will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel at 3215 South 300 East, Salt Lake City. Interment services will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery, 5555 South 2700 North, Eden, Utah.
