David Hall Bitner

1948 ~ 2018

David was born in Park City, UT on June 1, 1948 to Blaine and Rose Bitner. He graduated from Highland High School class of 1966. David served an LDS Mission to the Eastern States Mission from 1967 to 1969 and upon his return, found the love of his life, and was sealed for time and all eternity to Karen Ruth Officer on May 7, 1970. David earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Utah and his Masters Degree in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.

He was a loving father to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

David worked for Bitner Excavating, Pine Canyon Ranch for Boys, Wildlife Resources, Harper Excavating, and Midvale City. David loved all kinds of music and enjoyed singing. He especially loved to sing hymns and had a beautiful singing voice. He participated in many community musicals and played lead roles such as Luther Billis in South Pacific and Mr. Webb in Our Town. David loved books and reading. It was common for him to finish a book a day.

David served in many capacities within the LDS Church from Stake Sunday School president to mission leader. He always professed that his favorite calling of all was when he served in the nursery. David has a beautiful testimony and would talk in great length to his children and grandchildren of his love for his Savior and his gratitude for the atonement. In his later years, he enjoyed Perry Mason, Bones, Antique Road Show and any Spaghetti Western he could find. He always had a good joke and his laugh was contagious. David spoke daily of his desire to be reunited with \"his girl\" again and we know there surely was a grand reunion in Heaven July 1 when he stepped through the door.

David is survived by His Children Emily (Jason) Hill, Alexander (Karen) Bitner, Seth (Cindy) Bitner, Amanda Bitner, Anne Marie (Nicholas) Hemingway and His Grandchildren Alexis (James) Cason, Lindsay (Matthew) Astill, Christian Hill, Gabrielle Hill, Sarah Hill, Felicity Bitner, Ashley Bitner, Jacob Bitner, Benjamin Bitner, Grayce Bitner, Nicco Hemingway, Lola Hemingway, and Rose Hemingway and His Great Grand children Timothy Cason, Emma Astill, and Addison Astill.
