Kathy Clegg age 65 of Layton Utah passed away on September 3, 2016 at the University of Utah hospital surrounded by her family.
Kathy was born on May 3, 1951 in Montebello, California. She was the middle child of 5. Kathy and her family lived in La Puente, California. She attended Nelson Elementary, Sparks Jr High, La Puente High School. She graduated in June 1969. During her high school years she was on the Drill Team. At the age of 16 she worked in a sewing factory. Shortly after graduating on November 10, 1969 she met the love of her life George J Clegg and they were married January 16, 1971. They have enjoyed the last 47 years together. In 1994 her and George and their 2 Daughters Brandi and Krista moved to West Valley City, Utah. In 2008 George and Kathy moved to Layton, Utah where Kathy loved to take care of horses and ride with her daughter Brandi every weekend. Kathy and her daughter Krista have worked together for the last 8 years at Verizon Wireless.
Kathy loved spending time with her six Grandchildren Jayden, Dakota, Isabelle, Harley, Lillyann and Pyper. Her laugh could be heard from far away and put a smile and everyone face she was always the one to make sure everyone was taken care. She will be deeply missed by all.
Kathy is survived by her husband George, Daughter Brandi Clegg of Clinton, Utah and her spouse Robert, Daughter Krista Jenkins of Kearns, Utah and husband Jared, grandchilden Jayden, Dakota, Isabelle, Harley, Lillyann and Pyper.
Kathy is proceeded in death by father Edward J McElmeel and Mother Eunice McElmeel and Step Mother Ruth McElmeel and Brother Edward J McElmeel III.
Services will be held on Thursday September 15, 2016at11:00amwith a viewing at10:00am at the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Riverside, California. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California at1:00pm.
