John Martin Holland

1937 ~ 2016

Our fun loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, May 17th, 2016 from complications due to Interstitial Lung Disease.

John was born April 19, 1937 to Joseph and Vera Leone Martin Holland in Salt Lake City, UT. John married Judie Heinz in 1958 and had two lovely daughters. Later he met the love of his life Jean Burnett while walking his turtle "Touche` Away." They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 24, 1965. Jean worked as a teacher to support them while he was earning his Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Utah.

Together they built Property Management Systems, Inc. which was his life's passion and with hard work and dedication today it stands as one of the largest property management companies in Utah. John loved his staff and they loved him. He was well known and had a particular talent for talking with people he didn't know. He never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone about any subject and people would leave thinking they had just made a great new friend. His concern for all people was well known among his staff, his family and friends. John and Jean were thrilled to celebrate 50 years of marriage last year and loved spending their time with their family and especially their 15 grandchildren.

John is survived by his loving wife Jean Holland, his children; Karen Gardenhire (Don), Denise Colwell (David), Joe Holland (Julie), Mindy Hughes (Michael) and Kelly Miller (Brad). Also Survived by his many grandchildren; Michael, Joey, Kevin, Kristin, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Makena, Emmy, Ali, Ashlyn, John Harrison, Maddison, Colton and Megan. Also, survived by his first Great Grandchild Tyler and another on the way. Also survived by his sister Shauna O'Neil (Floyd).

John is Preceded in Death by his parents Joseph and Vera Leone Holland, his aunt, Miriam "Mimi" Martin and his grandchild Gracey Hughes.
