Masako S. Gould

1931 ~ 2014

Masako S. Gould passed away on May 7, 2014 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born on July 10, 1931 in Miyako-Jima, Okinawa, Japan to Tetsuo and Yoshiko Shimoji. She married Victor Gould in 1957 in Yokohama, Japan and had two sons, Rick and Jay. They were married for 25 years when Vic passed away. On Feb 14, 1985 she married another wonderful man, OJ Timothy and was married for 28 years.

Masako received a BA in Education in Japan. She worked at the U of U hospital as a billing administrator for 15 years. Her passionwas Bridge. She was a competitive Bridge Player achieving the rank Gold Life Master. She enjoyed many friendships and good times with her Bridge group.

Masako is survived by her sons; Jay Gould and Caesar Shimoji Manacsa Jr. (Maria Julieta), brother Akiyoshi Shimoji (Kimiko) , Okinawa, Japan, son-in-law, Bruce Bair, step son Daniel Timothy (Marie Pierre), daughter-in-law , Leslie Anderson, and her most beloved treasures, her 4 grandchildren; Trenton and Daniel Gould, and Mark and Elisha Manacsa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers; Hidenori and Keizo Shimoji,sister Hideko Yohena , sister in law Mieko Shimoji, and her son Richard Gould.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City from 11am to 1pm.
