Gene L. Jensen

1940 ~ 2014

Gene Jensen, loving husband, devoted father, dedicated grandfather, caring brother and uncle left us on Dec. 2nd, with his loving wife, Geraldine (Geri) of 52 years by his side, from the ravages of Parkinson's disease. He was born on Aug. 3, 1940 to Lester and Violet Eliza Napier Jensen in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Gene was an exemplary hard worker, having run his own business, Jensen Damp Proofing with his wife and only son, E. Cory Jensen. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, and he loved the great mountains, lakes, and rivers of Utah. His greatest joy in life was a hunting or fishing trip with his family in tow, in his motorhome or at his beautiful log home on Pine Mtn. up Weber Canyon, Oakley, Utah.

Gene leaves behind his wife, son Eugene Cory, Homer, Alaska, two beautiful daughters, Teresa (Mike) Forsyth, Sandy, Utah, Heather Dawn (Todd) Orges, Fountain, Colorado. He also leaves behind six cherished grand kids, they were the light of his life ‚ Shawn (Courtnie) Zackary, Isabella, Maddie, Connor and Austin. Gene was indeed the King of all Grandpa's and they were indeed the jewels in his crown. Also survived by two brothers, Lester Jensen, Jerry (Pat) Jensen and one sister Joyce (DeWayne) Sorenson. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Teddy Lynn.

A graveside service will be held in Gene's honor on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., at the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT. Friends and family may call from 12:00 ‚ 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, UT.
