Lois Condie Bearden Madsen, age 74, passed away on May 21, 2014 at her home in Draper, Utah. She was born May 14, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl and Verna Condie. Lois was a graduate of South High School and later graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics. She spent her career years working as a Clinical Dietician, with the majority of her time spent employed at Alta View Hospital. She was married to Donald Bearden from 1964 to 1986. In 1988 she married the love of her life: Raymond L Madsen. In 1997 Ray passed away. Lois was later sealed to Ray in the Draper Utah Temple on June 26, 2013. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many capacities. Her favorite calling was serving as the Primary Chorister to over 300 children. Lois was also a faithful and dedicated Visiting Teacher. She loved traveling including living in Germany for several years. She also loved listening to music, cooking, gardening, hosting birthday parties, watching Utah football, and watching Utah Jazz basketball. She loved the temple, visiting over 35 of them in her lifetime. Her greatest pride and joy in life was found in her relationships with her children and grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by Carl and Verna Condie (parents), Ray Madsen (husband), Eric Bearden (son), and Max Bearden (grandson). She is survived by her children: David Bearden (Tenna), Brian Bearden, Suzanne McFarland (Allen II), Michael Bearden (Jill), and Richard Bearden (Melissa); her brother Kent Condie (Carolyn); 18 grandchildren; Madsen family children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Draper 2nd Ward, 1617 East 12700 South, Draper, UT. Viewings will be held Monday May 26, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E.
