Sterling Erickson

1966 ~ 2015

Our beloved son and brother, Sterling Erickson, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a valiant battle with cancer, on September 20, 2015. Sterling was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, September 12, 1966. He attended East High School and later graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. He also pursued studies at BYU Jerusalem Center in Israel and at BYU Hawaii. Sterling served an honorable mission to Tulsa, Oklahoma, from 1985 to 1987. His work experiences included working for USA Today in the Marketing Department in New York City. Sterling was also a professional model in New York City, Los Angeles and Utah. He worked as a licensed Utah realtor. His love of learning also included earning high MCAT scores and attending medical school for a time, until he found a job that he loved and fit his lifestyle, working for the US Postal Service for 12 years, which allowed him the flexibility to travel the world and spend time with loved ones on many exotic adventures both national and international.

Above all, Sterling loved life, family and friends. He was always happy and exhibited Christlike love for all, young and old. He was truly a gift, a giant among men. Sterling loved the gospel, kept the faith, and trusted in the Lord. He was our humble warrior, who showed us all how to live life to its fullest and how to live through great adversity with dignity, grace and without complaint. We are so blessed to be his family. He truly was an example to us all. We love you, Sterling.

He is survived by Rona Minton (mother), and four siblings, Maria (Dickson) Burton, William (Colette) Erickson, Loreen (Val) Pearson, Moana (Eric) Jackson, and 12 nieces and nephews.
