Amanda L. Evans

1977 ~ 2019

Amanda L. Evans died on Friday, March 8th in her home in Bridgeport from complications of heart disease. She was born in Murray, UT on May 10, 1977 to R. Mont and Cheryl (Sherry) M Evans.

Amanda graduated from Bingham High School in South Jordan. She moved out east and married in 1999 in New York, NY. She earned a journalism degree from Housatonic with a 4.0 GPA and attended Columbia University to pursue a film degree, which only economic adversity prevented her from completing. A writer, debater, and activist, Amanda cared deeply and was passionate about many things, including politics and animals and movies, but especially the numerous people who loved her and relied on her friendship to steady and guide them.

A confidante to many, she was dependable and outgoing, but gentle and private. She was sensitive and empathic to a fault, and a perfectionist with exquisite taste and strongly-held, well-reasoned opinions. With a daunting intellect, she excelled at whatever she put her mind to, but her greatest accomplishment was the impact she had on the lives of all who knew her.

Amanda's potential was never fully realized, and the world is a darker place without her. She is survived by her husband, Steven Sudit; her parents, Mont and Cheryl Evans; her siblings, Nicolas (Michelle) Evans, Jonathan Evans, and Elizabeth (Trevor) Doney; her father- and mother-in-law, Josif and Malvina Sudit; brother-in-law Gene (Sarah) Sudit; her nephews and nieces, Addison and Lucy Doney; Mylee, Cole, Nicole, and Blake Evans; Abigail and Gabrielle Sudit; grandparents, Manuel and Lee Santos; uncles, Tom, Gary, and Kevin Santos; and distant cousin but close friend, Lisa Hilton. She was preceded in death by Truman and Christoph, the cats she loved as children; aunts DeAnn Evans and Sherrel Rae Evans (Richard) Burgoyne, and Grandparents, Roscoe and Lucile Evans.

A memorial service and celebration of Amanda's life will be held on March 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, UT (3688 W 12600 S.). In lieu of flowers, Amanda\s family and friends request donations be made in her name to Tiny Kittens at http://www.tinykittens.com/donate.
