Russell Reed Jacobs

1968 ~ 2015

Rusty Jacobs, age 47, died October 29 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a hero protecting his family. He was born August 24, 1968, in Salt Lake City, to Reed M. Jacobs and Clarann C. Larsen. He married Jana Stolk in the Salt Lake Temple. Rusty graduated from Cottonwood High School and the U of U where he was a member of Sigma Chi. As an active member of the LDS Church, he served in many positions, including several elders and quorum presidencies and ward clerk. He served an LDS mission in Kentucky. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his family as they skied, golfed, surfed, and camped together. Helping others was one of his trademarks. He served on the board of the Children's Service Society and the Neighborhood Day of Service. Coaching his children in soccer and baseball equaled his enthusiasm for playing golf. His love and skill while golfing earned him the nickname \"Bam Bam\" as he would send the ball down the fairway. He worked as a marketing investment advisor for Utah Retirement Systems. The family will greatly miss the wise council of this dearly loved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Jana; children: Keeva (Antonio) Juarez, Sean (Angie), Julie, Josh; grandchildren: Matthew, Lucas and Tyson Juarez; and Alexa Jacobs. Also survived by his sister Kathy (Brian) Wonnacott; mother Clarann C. Larsen (Jacobs); and his in-laws Nick and Rosella Stolk; brother-in-law Nick Jr. and family and sister-in-law Lori. He was preceded in death by his father.
