Scot O Peacock

1970 ~ 2015

Our beloved husband, father, brother and son left his family too early on October 5, 2015.

Scot was born in Murray, Utah on April 21, 1970 to Jesse James and Barbara Peacock. The youngest of six siblings, Scot was only the baby of the family in name. It wasn\t long before he towered over all of his siblings at 6 feet 6 inches tall. As a boy, Scot loved to play sports, hunt and spend time in the outdoors. His size and skill meant special \"Scot Rules\" often applied such as: his third home run in each game was an out, and no Scot allowed in the key during church basketball.

He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1988, and served an honorable LDS mission in the Seattle Tacoma Mission from 1989-91. He was offered several football scholarships and played right tackle at Ricks College. Scot received his degree in Sociology from the University of Utah in 2001. Even though his degree was red, his blood was always BYU Cougar blue.

Scot met Jennifer Carn at a church dance in 1992. They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1994 and added to their precious eternal family with Jake in 1998, Sage in 2002 and Sadi in 2005. Scot loved his babies; he was always very content holding his little ones.

Scot worked as a case manager forSalt Lake County Drug Court. He found satisfaction in helping people overcome their troubled pasts.

Scot\s true joy came from his family. Whether he was watching his kids dance, play baseball, softball, lacrosse, football, violin or choir concerts, or sitting around a campfire, he had the biggest smile on his face when he was surrounded by those he loved. His family will treasure the many happy memories of camping with Scot as the keeper of the firewood.

In his spare time, Scot enjoyed watching sports, especially the BYU Cougars and the Dallas Cowboys. He especially treasured the one-on-one time he had with Jake during the last two years as season ticket holders for BYU home football games. He also had a special affinity for history, and is probably enjoying getting to know many of history\s notable figures.

He had a testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel and served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Elders\ Quorum presidency and Sunday school teacher. Scot taught his children to be gentle, loving and always willing to help. He loved to joke and make other people smile.

Although Scot is not here in his earthly body, he will remain ever by the side of his wife Jennifer, and his children Jake, Sage and Sadi. Through the lives they live on earth, his eternal legacy will continue on, until the blessed day they meet again.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, children Jake, Sage and Sadi, and siblings Jan Hanson, Sharon McCully, Carol (Craig) Peacock, Lee (Cathy) Peacock and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.Scot was preceded in death by his parents and brother James.
