Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on November 4th, 2018 surrounded by family. Gene was born on August 9th, 1939 in Holladay, Utah to Al and Nettie Knuteson. He loved growing up in Holladay with his two older brothers, extended family and many friends.
Gene married Judith Elaine Paul on February 8th, 1960, together they had two daughters, whom they loved. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple in 2008. He was employed as a Machinist, retiring from Kennecott Copper. He then married Shirley Sharp on April 10th, 2010 and shared many happy times together. Gene's greatest joys were spending time with his family and friends, camping, fishing, and being together.
Survived by his wife Shirley; daughters Robyn (Jerry) Potter, Kimberlee Knuteson; stepchildren Cally (Todd) Migliaccio, Wendy Woolstenhulme, Glade (Harold) Woolstenhulme; grandchildren Alex (Amberly) Sleight, Bryan Gene Sleight, Casey (Stephen) Collier; great-grandchildren Chloe, Lincoln, Brody, and one on the way; also survived by Shirley's grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his first wife Judy; parents Al and Nettie; brothers Wayne and Dick; his in-laws Ralph and Pearl Paul, and Hal Dow.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9th at 11:00 AM. Friends are invited to greet his family during the viewings on Thursday, November 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services, all at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy.
