Our dear father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 3, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born March 11, 1929 in Dividend, Utah to Joel D. and Erma Epperson Hickman.
He enjoyed working in the grocery business with Safeway Market when he was younger and worked for Krafts Foods in sales for many years. He married Kathryn McAllister, they had two sons, Mark and Barry and one daughter, Kristie. They later divorced. He met Marjean Peterson while both were working for Safeway Market and were married November 27, 1955. Jerry and Marjean had two sons, Scott and Kevin, and together, they raised all 5 children. Jerry was a jokester and enjoyed making friends laugh. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time at Bear Lake.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Celesta), Kristie (Dave) Hyde and Kevin (Jodie), 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren with one great-great grandchild expected soon. He is preceded in death by his wife Marjean, parents, sons Barry and Scott, and sister Betty.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Peruvian Park Ward, 1515 East 8600 South in Sandy. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
