Rebecca Crockett

1965 ~ 2018

Rebecca Crockett passed away on December 9, 2018 in Salt Lake City, UT. She was born on March 16, 1965 in Murray, UT to Kenneth Harvey and Beverly Baker Crockett. She is survived by her mother, siblings Melissa (Mark) Huyboom, Russell Kenneth (Susan) Crockett, Michael David (Jennifer) Crockett and Jeffrey Grant (Heather) Crockett, 9 nephews and a niece. Preceded in death by her father.

One of Becky's first loves was of course, her dogs. Throughout her life she owned and loved many wonderful dogs who loved her as much as she loved them. At times, she would help her canine companions with a medical problem when she could have used the money herself.

Becky is an example of a person with a brilliant mind whose body just couldn't keep up with all that she wanted to accomplish. She was accepted to the University of Utah College of Nursing but physically was unable to attend. Although Becky was physically limited, she found ways to serve others.

Many people were blessed by her wonderful cooking skills. Although she was often very limited on what and how much she could eat, she cooked for others (especially her mom) even when she could only taste a bite or two of her masterpieces. She loved to try new recipes and use fresh produce from the garden to bottle and freeze food that was both nutritional and enjoyable to the taste buds. Christmas won't be the same without her delicious caramels.

If you needed to buy a car, fix a computer, deal with medical insurance companies, ask a medical question, get directions to places or have a question thoroughly researched, she was definitely the person to go to. Again, a brilliant mind. Becky also served others with beautiful items she made; glass etchings, cross-stitching, afghans and of course, her tasty cooking.

Rebecca was blessed to have caring and attentive doctors. Dr. Roger Freedman was her cardiologist with Dr. Stephen Morris handling everything else including comfort and kindness.

Her family and friends are so blessed to know that she is free from the limitations imposed by her body and is reunited with her family, friends AND HER DOGS. There was mutual caring between Rebecca and her mother as they had much fun and many tears.
