Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 8, 2014. Pekka was born in Riihimäki, Häme, Finland on October 19, 1930 to Altti Johannes and Lempi Matilda Järvinen. He married his sweetheart, Aino Koskinen on December 9, 1951. They had two sons, Raul (Nannette) and Mauri (Sherrie). Pekka brought his little family to the United States in 1964, after joining the LDS Church. He was a man of great faith and conviction. He was an accomplished artist and will long be remembered for his work. Pekka and Aino shared 63 years together, and were blessed with six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Aino and son Raul (Nannette). He was preceded in death by his son, Mauri. Pappa found great joy in his posterity; his happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and ‘N' Street. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com
