Larry Hughes Ballard passed away July 1st, 2016 at his home in Salt Lake City. He was born on August 30th, 1939 in Paul, Idaho to Harold and Elizabeth Ballard. With the exception of his early childhood, Larry spent his life in Salt Lake City. Larry enjoyed being surrounded by family and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and as time passed, their children as well. Larry was an amazing person who, in spite of learning disabilities, was able to overcome many of his challenges through his incredible determination and willpower. He loved the simple things in life... root beer, candy bars, cookies, old western TV shows, go-carts, and most of all spending time on the porch with his brother James and watching TV with his sister Judy. Larry also ran a successful answering service that for many years brightened the lives of those who called and had time to chat. Larry was cared for by his mother and father, and later in life, his sister Judy. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Harold, his brothers Robert and James, and his sister Carol and is survived by his sisters Dianne and Judy.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Larkin Mortuary 260 E. South Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by graveside services at 11:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
