Frieda Sophie Duehlmeier Bytheway

1924 ~ 2015

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt wife, passed away January 1, 2015, at the age of 90 while peacefully holding hands with her husband, Charles W. Bytheway. Frieda was born December 19, 1924 in Beckedorf, Germany to Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Duehlmeier and Engel Trine Sophie Paul. At 6 months of age, she and her family immigrated to the United States and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah where she lived her entire life, on the same block.

Frieda was a very faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and served in many callings, which included 9 years as Relief Society President, Stake Homemaking Leader and serving in several other presidencies. She accepted any calling she was asked to serve. She served for a number of years in her last calling as Ward Librarian. She was always serving her family and was the consummate "Do It Yourself " type of person and made many dresses and clothes for her children and grandchildren. She attended and graduated from South High School. Frieda and Charles were sealed in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, May 25, 1949.

Frieda is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Wilford Bytheway. Sister: Marie Engel Duehlmeier Moore. Sons: Charles Bytheway (Cheri), Jay Bytheway (Mary). Daughters: Colette Harmer (Ron), Michele Lee (Martin), Danette Crawford (Todd). Frieda's legacy to date consists of 6 children, 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren with 3 great-grandchildren on the way. Frieda is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter Rebecca and daughter-in-law Carmela (Charles). Also her brothers: Heinrich, William, Fred and Henry.

Service and viewings will be held at the LDS Salt Lake Cannon Stake Center, 934 Fremont Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing: January 5th at 6:00 ‚ 8:00 pm and January 6th at 10:30 am ‚ 11:45 am. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm. Funeral preparations and kind support attended to by Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah. Flowers can be sent to Larkin Mortuary at 260 E.
