Mark Seyfarth Fetzer

1945 ~ 2018

Our much loved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mark Seyfarth Fetzer of Lehi, Utah passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the age of 73, after a long struggle with diabetes and dementia. Mark was born to Emil B. and June S. Fetzer on March 27, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Highland High School graduating in 1963. After serving an LDS mission to the Central Atlantic States, he married his high school sweetheart, Elaine D. Haslam, in the Salt Lake Temple on March 15, 1968.

He attended the University of Utah, majoring in Architecture with a minor in Graphic Design. He loved his profession as an architect, working on some of the LDS temples, ward houses, wave pools, recreation centers and helped on the plans for the remodeling of the state capitol building in Salt Lake City. He enjoyed sports and was a very dedicated fan of University of Utah "Utes" football and basketball teams.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ he served in many callings. One of his favorite callings was serving in the Salt Lake Metro Jail. After retirement he served as a worker in the Salt Lake Temple. Family trips were enjoyed to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, St. George, Palm Springs, Coronado and a vacation to Hawaii and Spain.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine. His children, Matt (Jody Rich), Christopher (Laura ), and Robert (Jenn Hafen). A brother James (Debbie), and sisters Juneil (Lynn) Lyon, Margaret (Glen) Stoddart, and Janet (Michael) Jenkins. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Jacob, Chelsea, Preston, Alexander, Emma, Joel, Jane, Lily and Leah. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil B. and June S. Fetzer.

We as a family would like to extend a thank you to Dr.Stephen Aslami, Dr. Richard Cline, Katie Weisman, Nanise Tuifua, and Canyon Home and Hospice Care.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018, 11:00 am at the LDS chapel at 650 E. 3200 N, Lehi, Utah. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the same LDS chapel from 6:00-8:00 p.m. With a gathering to be held prior to the services from 9:30 ‚ 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
