James Harice Peters

1935 ~ 2015

James Harice Peters passed away August 15, 2015 at his home. He was born December 9, 1935 in Bolivar, Tennessee to Sylvester Harice Peters and Della Gladys Laughlin Peters. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was recently released as a service missionary with his wife Bonnie. Jim loved to fish and hunt and be out among the beauty of God's beautiful creations. He loved the time he spent with family and friends in his boat and gazing for miles over beautiful mountain vistas. In later years he would receive great joy in going to feed the ducks at the park. Jim wore many hats in life; he had been a painter, journeyman iron worker, he and Bonnie operated their maintenance business for 20 years and he retired from the Salt Lake City Water Department in 2011 after 20 years of service there.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie and the many children they have had grace their home and life; Gladys (James) Sipes, Jimmy Peters, Sandra (Mel) Hardman, Terrie Burnside, RaGina (Joe) Hancock, Darryl Burnside, Kurt (Charo) Rifleman, Maria Salazar, Arturo (Felicia) Lopez, Noemi Bustamante, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother, son, daughter and two grandsons.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South).
