Herb passed away April 12, 2017. He was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on April 15, 1927 to Herbert and Mildred Wolsey Hinds. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand, Herb married Beverly Washburn on March 2, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple‚Äîmarried 66 years. After living in Cardston 2 Ω years, Herb moved the family to SLC and accepted a job with Texaco. They lived in Holladay, UT (24 yrs) prior to transferring to Claremont, CA (7 yrs) and Cypress, TX (4 yrs) and retired from a 35 yr career at Texaco. Sandy, UT has been home for 29 yrs [1988-2017].
He is survived by his wife Beverly and children Teryle (Bob) Caswell, Carol Ann (Roger) Brown, Jana (Mark) Holyoak, Jeff (Kimberly) Hinds and Jason (Jennifer) Hinds, 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Sheryle Hinds McVey (daughter), Kevin Herbert Hinds (son), his parents and two sisters, Gwen H. Allred and Sylvia H. Wood.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Roseboro LDS Chapel, 1880 East 9800 South, Sandy. (Across the street from the Hinds home.) Visitations will be held on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) and on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
