Robert Michael Falck

1939 ~ 2017

Robert Michael Falck, beloved patriarch and servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully in his Holladay home on January 18, 2017. He was born in Salt Lake City on March 9, 1939 to Louis Kuni and Eleonora Smith Amussen Falck. He loved his parents and siblings. Mike endured hardship and happiness in his youth that led him to turn to the Lord. Those experiences developed his character. As a result, Mike\s life was marked by service and steadfastness. He was gentle, thoughtful and patient. He always exhibited a deep sense of humility. Through his service in the church, he labored on behalf of many. He constantly sought out those in need and freely gave of his time and means. He was so loving and kind. In our home he was a foundation. At one time or another all of his children leaned on him and he dispensed wise counsel and support. His compass was true. Even his choice of profession as hospital administrator reflects his lifelong commitment to serving others. He was highly accomplished and well respected. His life and example serve as the benchmark for all of his children and grandchildren. Steady, committed, loving, kind and soft. A great man who contributed far more than he received. He served an honorable mission to Melbourne, Australia. He served as Branch President, Bishop, Stake President, Home Teacher, and died as the Stake Patriarch. In his later years he particularly sought to encourage and inspire the youth. He loved being a patriarch and blessing the lives of others. We miss him but rejoice in his beautiful life. He loved his beautiful rosebud, Gayle. He fought hard to say goodbye just one last time. Their love was tender and sweet.

Mike is survived by his wife Gayle Duffin Falck; his children: Kristin McNeil (Greg); Carolyn Flitton (John); Robert Duffin Falck (Gwen); David Duffin Falck (Dawn); and Suzanne Giles (Joe); 25 grandchildren; and brother Louis Kuni Falck, Jr. He was preceded in death by his son Scott. We are sure they both rejoiced in their reunion. Mike\s sister Janis Rae also preceded him in death. Mike loved his family and he loved the Lord.
