Robert Leslie Black

1925 ~ 2019

Robert Leslie Black (R.L.), age 94, passed away November 16th, 2019, in Salt Lake City Utah.

He was born February 25th, 1925, in Leaf, Habersham County Georgia to Luther Leonard and Veatrice McAllister Black. He married Bernice Graves in the Salt Lake Temple on November 25th, 1957.

R.L. grew up in Demorest, Georgia where he worked for Johnson and Johnson for over 10 years. He moved to Salt Lake City Utah in July 1957. Shortly after arriving he became employed at EIMCO, retiring in 1995. Although he had retired, he returned to EIMCO at their request and continued to work for 10 more years.

He was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Among his callings in the church were; Assistant Stake Clerk, Ward Clerk, Stake Sunday School Presidency, Stake Seventies Quorum Presidency, Sunday School Teacher, Temple worker for 17 years and a Service Missionary at WelFare Square. His life was one of service. He was respected by many and cared for all.

He is survived by his only child Leslie Luther Black and his wife Wendy; His Grandchildren: Jeremy John Black and his wife Jennifer and his great grandchildren Carson and Archer; Zachary Robert Les Black and his wife Kylee; Indiana J Williams and his great grandchild Elias; Tayler Raine Edwards and her husband Jayson; Jorden Elizabeth Black.

He was preceded in death by his Father Luther, Mother Veatrice, Wife Bernice, Sister MaryLou, Brother Herman, Sister Jean.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday November 23, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E., 1300 So., Salt Lake City, UT 84108 with a viewing prior from 11:00 to 12:00 pm.
