Ronald Jack Hollberg Jr.

1932 ~ 2016

Ronald Jack Hollberg Jr. passed away peacefully January 12, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born to Dorothy Morgan and Ronald Jack Hollberg on January 4, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ron lived a life full of family, adventure, fun, learning, and love. He loved family more than anything. He loved his parents and took especially good care of his Mother and siblings when his Father passed away at an early age.

Ron served in the 101st Fighter Squadron during the Korean War and later became a great Entrepreneur. As a geologist, he enjoyed exploring and finding mineral leasing opportunities and then "making the deal." He owned Arjay Oil, Emery Energy and co owned Rio Vista. He was also proud to own and restore to its original state the Woodruff Mansion built in 1906 on 225 N. State Street in Salt Lake City.

Above all his successes, travels and accomplishments, Ron treasured people the most. He loved his family dearly and was compassionate and would do anything for anyone. He also had a great sense of humor and loved making those around him laugh.

Ron will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, and little sister, Joyce. He is survived by his wife: Debbie, step children: JJ (Jesse) and Lara Lee (Adam), children: Ron (Valerie), Steve (Sherry), Brett (Susan), Suzanne (Mike), Carolyn, Jackson (Brianne), and Sophie (Taylor), siblings: Robert, Thomas (Barbara), Judith (Kerrie) as well as 28 adoring grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 11 am at the LDS Val Verda 4th Ward, 2633 S. 50 W. Bountiful, Utah. There will be a viewing at Larkin Mortuary 260 E South Temple Monday 6-8 pm and before the funeral at the ward 9:30-10:45 am.
