Laurie Teichert Eastwood

1924 ~ 2015

Laurie Teichert Eastwood died in Redlands, Fri., June 5th, at age 90. She had been a resident of San Bernardino, California since 1953.

Laurie was born to Herman and Minerva Teichert on Dec. 30, 1924. She grew up and graduated from High School in Cokeville, Wyoming. She earned a B.A. from BYU in Poly Sci. She was a missionary for the LDS Church (1946-1948) in Mexico, where she met her husband of sixty-seven years, Charles Wallis Eastwood. They were married Dec. 3, 1948 in Salt Lake City. From 1990-1992 Laurie assisted Charles in Mendoza, Argentina, where he was a mission president for the LDS Church. She is remembered as a loyal, creative, intelligent, and optimistic wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who happily served others.

She is survived by husband, Charles Eastwood; daughters Marian (Lynn) Wardle, Jeanette Ensley, Elisa Pulido, and Nadine Eastwood; son C.J. (Kumi) Eastwood; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Herman and Minerva Teichert; brothers, Herman, Robert, and Hamilton Teichert; daughter, Eve Eastwood Fey; and grandson, Jared Eastwood Ensley.

A memorial service will be held Wed., June 17, at 10:00am at The Garden Park Ward Chapel, 1150 East Yale Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah.
